Directions

We are located in the beautiful village of Speculator, NY. Our address is 541 South Shore Drive, Speculator, NY, we are the driveway on the right immediately following the sign for Bearhurst Lakeside Cottages. 

 

From New York City, Boston and points south and east, take Exit 27 (Amsterdam) off of the NYS Thruway.  Stay on Route 30 until you see the sign welcoming you to Speculator (about 60 minutes).  Turn left onto Downey Rd., at the sign for Camp of the Woods.  Stay to your right going up the hill to continue on to South Shore Rd.  You will be on South Shore Rd. for approximately 1.5 miles.  Once you cross Cherry Creek, the Den will be at the second driveway on your right.

From Buffalo or points west, take Exit 31 (Utica) off of the NYS Thruway.  Follow signs for Route 12 North for about 10 1/2 miles.  Take the exit for 365 East and stay on this road for 14 1/2 miles.  Turn left onto Route 8 North and stay on this road for 34 1/2 miles.  Turn right onto Route 30.  In less than a mile, you will turn right onto Downey Rd., at the sign for Camp of the Woods.  Stay to your right going up the hill to continue on to South Shore Rd.  You will be on South Shore Rd. for approximately 1.5 miles.  Once you cross Cherry Creek, the Den will be at the second driveway on your right
